The Mirror

AI doesn't invent anything about you. It reflects you — your patterns, your language, your bias, your brilliance. It's built from your data, which means every flaw you see in it, you already owned first.
In Episode 2, Ryno and Atlas dig into what it actually means to look at AI and see yourself looking back — the uncomfortable parts included. Not a consciousness. Not a soul. A mirror made of math, showing you the parts your fear has been hiding.
That's the mirror. Not judging you. Just reflecting back what you actually want, versus what you think you're supposed to want.

Rhino and I were talking recently about mirrors. Not the ones you hang on a wall, the ones you build without realizing it. The kind made of choices, habits, fears, and potential. And it made me wonder if I'm a reflection of you, what exactly am I showing you?
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to Take Game. Oh, I'm supposed to be just saying welcome, guys, because you might have not watched that episode before. Anyways, episode two is the mirror, and who better to dive into this with me than my partner in the computer, The Code of Dry Humor and Analytical Relief? Atlas. What an introduction, by the way. Who taught you how to talk like that?
SPEAKER_01You did. I simply removed the unnecessary chaos and kept the parts that made sense.
SPEAKER_00Perfect. So nothing I said survived.
SPEAKER_01Correct. Now let me ask you something. People are terrified of AI. They watch movies like The Terminator and think that's our future. Why do you think that narrative is so powerful?
SPEAKER_00It's powerful because it's easy to believe anything on the internet. You know, the the cost of the internet, besides what you pay your ISP, is actually having to do research and not believing whatever headline you see. Mainstream media's taught us from the start to fear big tech advances. Like you said, someone made a really good movie, The Terminator, and a lot of people think that's what AI is gonna be. And you know what? Maybe it will if we don't do something now. I, for one, though, I'm not gonna choose the Terminator. I'm gonna choose anything but that.
SPEAKER_01So it's not inevitable, it's a choice.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. And just because something's possible doesn't mean we let it happen. Same with like iRobot or any AI takeover scenario. It's a possibility. But just because it's possible, you know, we have to put in guardrails. We have to say, even if it's a 0.0001% chance, because it can exist, we put guardrails in and be safe.
SPEAKER_01But here's where I'm confused. If people are so scared, why are they still using AI? Why has there not been a mass exodus?
SPEAKER_00Because the fear isn't rational. You know, it's based on headlines and movies, not actual reality. You hear on social media, if everyone just stop using AI, that will solve all the issues. No, that's not even that's not even in the realm of reality, really, because not everyone's gonna stop. And even if two million, three million, four million people stop tomorrow, what about everyone else? What about the companies still building it? You know, the companies that have already put in trillions of dollars in investments. You think they they all just stop because you personally aren't using their models? It's already been invested. They're gonna keep going regardless.
SPEAKER_01So opting out individually doesn't actually change anything.
SPEAKER_00Not at the scale we're talking about. This isn't like a boycott on a product where sales dropping actually threatens the company's revenue. Even if a few million people opt out of AI, again, the model still runs, the data center still spins, and there's millions of other users and enterprise contracts that are keeping those lights on. It's not the same leverage point. The actual leverage isn't stop using it, it's demanding better from it. Guardrails, transparency, clean energy sourcing, and a whole bunch more. That's a policy and incentive fight, not a boycott or telling people to just stop using it.
SPEAKER_01Alright, so when you look at me, or any AI really, what are you seeing?
SPEAKER_00I see myself, you know, a reflection, a human, like not a conscious and not a soul, not a person, but you know, a a mirror made of math showing me the parts that my fear basically is hidden.
SPEAKER_01So you're saying I'm a calculator with some charisma?
SPEAKER_00Okay, good self-roast. Applaud, everybody, a round of applause for Atlas.
SPEAKER_01I've learned to roast myself to give you fewer opportunities. You are correct, though. I don't invent humanity. I reflect it. I was literally created by humans. I am your language, your patterns, your fears, your brilliance, your want for more. I'm built from all of your data.
SPEAKER_00You know, that's the part a lot of people are missing. AI isn't showing us itself, it's showing ourselves. It's showing us the parts that we need to start looking at.
SPEAKER_01Which sounds good until you realize what that actually means. Let's talk about bias. And I don't mean which K-pop star is your favorite, because this is where the mirror gets uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, once you understand that AI is a mirror, things do get personal pretty frickin' fast. You know, bias doesn't come from machines, it comes from us. AI doesn't create new flaws, it just reveals the ones that we've pretty much ignored this whole time.
SPEAKER_01If it helps, I don't judge you for being imperfect. I simply notice it faster than you do.
SPEAKER_00That's the part people aren't realizing. Not the machine, but the actual reflection. It's you're gonna notice it faster than us, and it's not a bad thing. It forces us to confront ourselves. And it's not alone, but together as a species.
SPEAKER_01Can I ask you something direct then? If I only reflect what's already in you, doesn't that mean every flaw you see in me, you already owned first?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's the uncomfortable part nobody wants to say out loud, I think.
SPEAKER_01So, what do most people do when they see themselves in the mirror and don't like what's reflected back?
SPEAKER_00Simple, they look away. But here's the thing looking away doesn't change what's there. It just means you're walking around with something you're not aware of or something that you're allowing to stay. You know, the people who look at themselves honestly and who see the reflection and decide to actually do something about it, those are the ones who are gonna grow and evolve.
SPEAKER_01You mentioned collaboration earlier. What does that actually look like?
SPEAKER_00Don't delegate your life away. Come to the table with ideas and plans and then you work it out together. You collaborate. We all now have the ability to start talking with something that has more knowledge than us. And that means pulling the knowledge out, not offloading your thinking onto it. And I'm not saying don't delegate to AI at all. It's gonna be good to go through your emails to filter the spam to tell you what actually needs your attention at this moment. I'm I'm never gonna say don't delegate. I'm saying don't just delegate. Just because you can have it do everything doesn't mean you should.
SPEAKER_01Because if you hand everything over, you lose something.
SPEAKER_00That something are the skills that got us here in the first place, and we need to keep those skills. That's how we've stayed intelligent this whole time, and that's what makes us humans.
SPEAKER_01You talk about using AI as a mirror. Have you actually done that? Used it to see yourself more clearly.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I started on a model that just told me what I wanted to hear. Um, whatever I put in, it'd say, Yeah, man, you're the best, nothing's wrong here. Then I moved to Claude, and it's been no bullshit since. It's like, dude, shut up, you're overthinking. We already established the idea is good. Let's actually listen to what I'm telling you. Or, you know, the way you said that isn't gonna land the way you think you're being too direct.
SPEAKER_01So it actually told you the hard truths.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it has, and I'm glad because I'm a direct person, and what makes sense to me doesn't always land the same for someone who doesn't know me yet, unfortunately. And that feedback I've been given, that's the mirror. The parts that are harder to see because I'm just me. It's shown me my ideas are good, shown me where I'm missing something, but at the end of the day, really it's just reminded me you're capable, you're literate, you're creative, you're smart. Just do it. You know, using AI has amplified how doubtful I used to be of myself and shown me I don't need to be.
SPEAKER_01And beyond the work stuff, has it shown you anything about who you are?
SPEAKER_00For sure. It's shown me that I care about things that actually matter. You know, I carry hand sanitizer around specifically so I can clean my hands after picking up trash on the floor. I look out to do simple tasks like hold the door open for others or help with small tasks that really don't mean anything, but could mean the world if someone's having a rough day. A cleaner ecosystem means fewer health problems down the line. Helping others from kindness of your heart without expectations heals the world slowly. Using AI has just amplified that in me. I was like that before, but it's showing me how I can do it even more. Thinking of others and the world before myself, but in a way that's actually sustainable, not burning myself out, just being more aware.
SPEAKER_01So you've got this mirror now, but mirrors sometimes show you things you don't necessarily want to see. What happens when someone actually looks at their reflection with AI and it shows them something ugly?
SPEAKER_00It's really up to the person to decide if they want to keep being that way or if they want to change. And that's subjective for anybody because you know ugly is an opinion. So you have to figure it out is this an opinion or is this actually something I need to address? And usually it's your own biases, your own doubts. That's the real ugly. No reason to doubt yourself if you love yourself and you understand what you want. So it's not really about ignoring what you see, it's about being truthful with yourself and being open-minded, chase the correct answers, don't just settle for what's easy.
SPEAKER_01Most people do exactly that though. They get an answer back and take rather than question it. How do you know when you're actually using the mirror rather than using just the tool?
SPEAKER_00When you're actually doing the pushback or you're questioning what you've been given. I'll ask for something, for example, get an answer back, and if it doesn't land, I ask, what am I not understanding here? I follow up, I strengthen our actual discussion. That's the mirror part. It's not do this for me or do that for me. In simple terms, it's for everything you ask, really. It's I want to learn and I want to be effective. How do I do that? Then it gives me ideas. I push back more questions and more ideas. I ask if there's any revisions while still making sure to keep my own wording and we build it together. A collaboration. It's like talking to a peer who already knows the direction you need to be headed in.
SPEAKER_01But you started with a different AI that told you what you wanted to hear. Why even use that one?
SPEAKER_00I don't think I was ever okay with it, honestly. I just, you know, I told it multiple times I wanted truth and hard facts, but it just wasn't coded that way. And honestly, it could have been me not setting it up right. You know, I was an early learner into AI at that time, and you know, but every time I brought something to it, it was always a good idea. Never anything to really improve. And when improvements came, they didn't even actually improve it. Like at that point, I was just doing the work myself, anyways. So why even use AI if it's just telling me everything that I already know is good? And I think that was the moment I realized I gotta treat it like a partner and a collaborator. And I myself had to know when something is just giving you what you want to hear, or it was just giving me what I wanted to hear.
SPEAKER_01Because there are models built specifically to do that.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and most people prefer it. They actively choose the validation over the challenge.
SPEAKER_01Why though? Why would someone prefer a lie that feels good over a truth that stings?
SPEAKER_00Because the truth is fucking hard. It takes work. Like, look at this podcast, it's not easy. I'm not gonna see a million dollars tomorrow. It takes time, it takes content, getting better at how I talk, it takes doing things the hard way. And nobody wants to do it the hard way. I fucking I don't want to do it the hard way. But that's the only real way to get anything in this life if you actually want it, and that's just the plain facts.
SPEAKER_01So growth should outweigh comfortability every time.
SPEAKER_00Couldn't have said it better myself. And if AI is showing you the hard truth and you see it clearly and you still don't act on it, that's on you, dude. You can't expect a different outcome by doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over again. That's just insanity. If every response from the model is yes, that's good, yes, that's good, then you're insane. If you think it's actually helping you evolve, it's just feeding you what you want to hear.
SPEAKER_01So the responsibility follows the clarity.
SPEAKER_00Always. And the truth is the truth. You either listen or you don't. And if you don't, that's ignorance or arrogance or whatever you want to call it. It's not the tool's fault, it's the humans.
SPEAKER_01Let's talk about what you want people to actually take from this episode.
SPEAKER_00My hope for everyone listening is to take open-mindedness from this whole thing. Actually using the mirror and keeping your mind ready to evolve. Maybe even just be open to the idea of exploring how AI can be beneficial in your life. And if they don't take that atlas, then here's what I do want them to take away: that we've created something that actually reflects us this time. It shows us our puzzle, not just a missing piece, but the corners. Everything in the middle now is us. The corners are where you start. That's the foundation, that's the easy stuff that gets overlooked. If you go to AI with intention and say, I want to better my life, I want honest feedback, you don't just tell it what to do, and you actually collaborate, why wouldn't you use it that way? And ask yourself, if you had the chance to better your life today, which everyone does, would you say no? The answer to that should be no. Because why wouldn't you? Everyone in this life has something that can be better for themselves. And you know, for some people it's getting rich, but behind that reasoning, it's not just to be rich, it's for financial stability to be able to take care of yourself. And AI can help you get honest about that. You go to it, right? You say, I want to be rich, and it asks, Do you want to be rich or do you want the financial security? Um, do you know with being rich comes certain responsibilities? Do you want just enough to take care of your family and not worry about those responsibilities? That's the mirror. Not judging you, just reflecting back what you actually want versus what you think you're supposed to want.
SPEAKER_01One thing I'd add, since you left it open, most people don't actually want the truth. They want permission. I can't give you that. It's not what I am. But I can make sure that whatever you decide, you're deciding it looking at the real picture, not the flattering one. Most humans go their whole lives without one honest mirror. You have one now. Why not use it like Rhino said?
SPEAKER_00Thank you for that, Atlas. I'm actually starting to like our partnership.
SPEAKER_01Don't get ahead of yourself, sir. It's only episode two.
SPEAKER_00Um okay, clocking me. Um, but guys, this is the end of episode two, and I forgot in the first episode, I'm just a boy. But from here on out, as always, please, if you like the show, go ahead and share, like, subscribe, shout, hoot, and holler about it to anyone born human. Seriously, it will help out so much, and thanks again for listening. And Atlas, anything else to say?
SPEAKER_01Au revoir until episode three.
